MASSAGE SESSION LENGTH OPTIONS
Not sure whether to schedule a 15, 30, 60, or 90 minute service? All sessions (except the Mini) include a 10 minute undressing and "quieting time," and redressing allowance. Please see our FAQ and Policies page for more information on client etiquette, therapist professionalism, illness, cancellations, and more.
THE MINI SESSION: As a general rule, express massage services (10-20 minutes) are good for those needing a fast energy boost (afternoon lull, morning fog, etc), or quick relief from building tension (eye strain, headache, jaw or neck tension, or aching calves) to prevent or alleviate . To relieve tension that is already settled, we advise scheduling a 30, 60, or 90 minute service, depending upon the degree of tension or pain. Our 15 minute sessions are typically reserved for individuals or businesses hosting events at their location (weddings, fairs, office sessions, birthdays, family reuinions, et cetera). Read more about this service in the Massage Therapy section below.
THE 30 MINUTE SESSION: A thirty minute massage session is usually adequate for partial body treatment (meaning upper body, or low back and legs, for example). This session is great for relieving general tension, addressing moderate muscle aches and pain in one or two areas, and for maintenance on known problem areas between hour or ninety minute sessions. A half hour session is not enough time to address several areas of concern, or to complete a full body session.
THE 60 MINUTE SESSION: The sixty minute massage session is by far the most popular session length available. Typically this session length allows enough time for detailed work on a couple areas of specific tension/discomfort and maintenance work on the remainder of the body, OR an hour session also can provide enough time for more focused work on only a few areas of pain or tension if a person is looking solely for deep therapeutic or trigger point style work. For those not experiencing discomfort or pain, a nice relaxing Swedish massage is an option for this session length too.
THE 90 MINUTE SESSION: A ninety minute massage session is wonderful for massage devotees who need a more extensive, focused therapeutic effect and deeper work to relieve moderate to severe muscle tension/discomfort or more complex pain complaints (marathoners, other athletes, hard laborers, high-stress office workers, etc). For those not acclimated to receiving massage on a regular basis, who do not prefer deep or focused trigger point work, or who simply do not have much to address in the way of tension, discomfort or pain, this session length may be too long.

The therapist will alternate the use of cryo packs or tubes and gentle massage techniques to stimulate blood and lymph flow in the affected area, reduce inflammation and swelling (edema), calm irritable nerves, and decrease associated muscle spasms and pain. Cryo-massage is excellent for helping alleviate post-workout soreness, muscle strains or stubborn tension, as well as reducing inflammation in cases of tendonitis. Cryo-massage is contraindicated for individuals who have any circulatory insufficiency (including severe bruising or hematomas or advanced cardiovascular disease), cold allergy, suffer from neuropathy or advanced diabetes, or have post-surgical wounds. FASCIA & MPE THERAPY
The following techniques target fascia more so than "standard" massage modalities and can help alleviate severe muscle tension, scar tissue adhesions, inflexibility, nerve entrapment, stagnation (lack of blood or lymph flow), and more.
CUPPING THERAPY ♥ $55 (30 min; partial body) ♥ $80 (45 min; full body) ♦ $15 Add-On Price
A treatment fit for a king; cupping is an amazing treatment for anyone suffering from severe muscle tension. Beneficial for headaches, neck and back pain, stasis (poor circulation), anxiety, insomnia, menstrual discomfort, scar tissue, range of motion issues, nervousness and also detoxification. From light lymphatic treatments to deep penetrating treatments, this modality can be barely noticeable to gloriously therapeutic. Treatment can include one or more of the following areas: back, shoulders, arms, face, neck, abdomen, legs, and even hands and feet (one body area is included with the Warrior's Refuge/Deep Tissue session for free; cupping may not work on all body areas or body types). A therapist may use a few cups with gliding techniques or many cups with stationary positioning depending upon the needed intensity and desired outcome. (Special Note: Cupping can leave markings on the skin akin to a "hickey", but these are not harmful in any way. Marks generally fade away within 10 days, however individuals who are largely sedentary, or those with greater body stagnation may experience gradual mark fading over a period of several weeks. Very prominent body hair in the target treatment area must be removed prior to treatment; shave 1-2 days prior or wax not less than 5 days in advance. It is advised that any cupped area not be exposed to extreme hot or cold for a minimum of 4 hours post treatment.)
HONEY THERAPY ♥ $55 (30 min) ♦ $15 Add-On Price: Add to any regular massage session (may increase time requirements).
This treatment is a highly therapeutic experience that breaks up fascial adhesions and encourages softening of the underlying tissues. We mingle biologically active, mineral rich honey with hydrotherapy to both stimulate and calm the nervous system, and help alleviate a variety of ailments including stress, menstrual cramps, insomnia and more. Target areas: face, back, and/or buttocks/thighs only. (This treatment will gently exfoliate the skin, so please do not exfoliate prior to arriving for your appointment.)
NEW! "FASCIA-TASTIC" THERAPY ♥ $105 (60 min) ♥ $135 (90 min)
Due to the dramatic increase in popularity of our fascia-focused treatments (especially cupping) in recent years for relief of pain associated with Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) or Chronic Myofascial Pain (CMP) in many of our clients, we have decided to offer this new stand-alone fascia session. This session focuses mainly on cupping therapy (see below) but also incorporates modalities such as fascia blasting, blading, compression and stretching techniques to target the myofascial system throughout the body. Focused fascia therapy is excellent for:
NEW! MYOFASCIAL PAIN EXPOSURE (MPE) THERAPY ♥ $55 (30 min) ♥ $105 (60 min) ♥ Series of 6 ($50/ea; $100/ea)
Pain is never easy to deal with, especially when it lingers for weeks, months or years at a time. It is no wonder that in our human nature we do all we can to avoid pain when it comes along. Yet, intense pain can sometimes trigger us to adopt coping strategies that are essentially self-sabotage and over the long term inhibit our ability to heal and typically increase our dysfunction and associated pain levels. In our attempt to avoid the sensation of pain we may begin to foster:

- Relieving pain associated with chronic TMJ or bruxism
- Reducing deep-seated muscle tension, especially chronic neck and/or back tension
- Restoring range-of-motion (ROM) and muscle function in or around joints (especially shoulders and hips)
- Improving scar healing outcomes for "new" scars (post-surgical or wound induced)
- Relieving restrictions from "old" scar tissue
- Reducing nerve pain caused by fascial restrictions
- Reducing deep-seated, neuromuscular-bound stress and tension
- Alleviating menstrual cramping/pain
- Face/TMJ (marking is possible, though we do treat the face with extra care to attempt to prevent them, but it feels amazing!)
- Neck, back, shoulders
- Portions of the upper chest, arms, and sometimes hands
- Stomach/abdomen and rib cage
- Hips, quads, hamstrings, calves, and occasionally the feet

HYDROTHERAPY HOT PACKS ♥ $15 Add-On Price
These hot packs are a wonderful Add-On to any standard massage. Moist heat has been proven to be up to 80% more effective than dry heat (electric heating pads, etc.) for easing muscle tension. Select a single large pack for the back to calm muscles and relax the central nervous system, or two smaller packs for areas like tight quads, or aching feet. FULL BODY HERBAL ICE WRAP ♥ $105 (60 min; relaxation and sleep) ♥ $135+ (90+ min; immune support, detoxification, organ health)
For those who wish to benefit from "cryotherapy" (cryo = cold) but don't quite have the gusto of renowned "Iceman" Wim Hoff to jump into an ice bath, this wrap is the perfect place to "get your feet wet" (metaphorically speaking). While modern day "cryotherapy" is considered to only include extremely cold temperatures (-166°F to -256°F) for very short bursts of time, the original use of the term "cryo" simply indicated "ice-cold", which is the premise of this treatment. For this "icy-cold" treatment, you will first be warmed in the light-bath or sauna to boost core temperature, and then you will be wrapped in our special herbal ice-wrap cocoon. You will emerge feeling refreshed and revitalized. While results vary from person to person, general benefits of cryotherapy include:
