ABOUT MASSAGE

ABOUT MASSAGE
Massage therapy is an all encompassing name for a variety of modalities including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Neuromuscular Massage, Shiatsu, Hot Stone Massage, Watsu, Cranio-Sacral Massage, and others.  Massage therapists come from a variety of backgrounds and are trained in varying modalities.  We recommend that you talk to potential massage therapy providers before receiving treatment to ensure that they are properly trained and licensed and will be able to provide the treatment(s) you seek in a safe and effective manner.  Not all therapists or services are equal, and because of this we highly recommend that you try a variety of services and therapists until you are satisfied with the treatments you are receiving.

It is important to note that we, as professional massage therapists, practice under a code of highly ethical standards, and The Great Escape's therapists maintain appropriate professional boundaries between therapist and client at all times.  Any inappropriate behavior by you of any kind towards your therapist, other staff, or any other patron will be grounds for immediate dismissal from this establishment, forfeiture of any future treatments, and may be grounds for legal action.  We take the integrity of our profession very seriously and thank all our customers for their understanding in this matter.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY
As with any form of health and wellness service, the final outcome of your massage sessions will depend largely upon the feedback you provide your therapist before, during and after your sessions. It is critical to provide an accurate health history prior to your session to rule out any contraindications. Be sure to voice your preferences regarding: massage pressure, speed, and overall feel, as well as room temperature, music selection, essential oils and other fragrances, etc. Also, it is important to inform your therapist of any health changes including: improvements since your last treatment, changes in prescription medications, alternate forms of treatment being used in conjunction with massage therapy, etc.

If you like, you may also leave comments, suggestions, or other feedback (anonymous also, if preferred) on our Feedback page which will help us to provide the best services we can offer.  If you particularly like our style of massage or bodywork, or have otherwise made a positive impact in your life.  leave a personal Testimony for others there too. In advance, thank you.

You may visit
www.nebraska.gov/LISSearch/search.cgi to find out if your therapist is licensed in the state of Nebraska or ask your therapist for proof of state licensure.

NCTM, NCTMB, AMTA, ABMP  certificates and/or memberships or any other professional affiliations, certifications or credentials do not indicate that someone is licensed by the state to practice massage therapy.

NEBRASKA LICENSURE
Nebraska, like most states in the USA currently require some degree of formal training, standard of competency, and/or state licensure.

The state of Nebraska currently requires 1,000 hours of training from an accredited educational institution and successful completion of one of the currently available National Certification exams.  Licenses are required to perform massage therapy, reflexology, bodywork, hydrotherapy, and even animal massage (regulated under veterinary medicine).  For more information, contact the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (Ne DHHS) Massage Therapy division.

CARING HANDS OF CHADRON 2016 & 2017 (Chadron, NE)  The first ever Caring Hands of Chadron (Sept. 2016) was modeled after the much larger national program Your Best Pathway to Health.  We joined the hands of many local service providers to meet several critical needs of those uninsured or underinsured in our community.  From dental, vision, counseling and pain management, general auto inspection, the Caring Hands team provided an estimated $30,000 in care for those who could not afford to pay for these services on their own.

In September 2017 we were fortunate to be a part of the second Caring Hands event, an joined the ranks of a growing line of health and wellness professionals teaming up to meet the needs of area citizens as far as our reach is able to go.

The Great Escape is so grateful to be able to participate in event's like this, and we look forward to participating in many more in the future.

IF YOU HAVE AN EVENT YOU WOULD LIKE US TO CONSIDER ATTENDING FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
