In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Massage Therapy Awareness week both of which occur in October, we are reaching out to survivors (and victims) who wish to be set free. We know that statistically speaking, there is a tremendous likelihood that the person reading this has been - at one time or another - either a victim of abuse or a witness of abuse. We also know that overcoming the long-term affects of abuse isn't an easy process... but it CAN be done. If you, or anyone you know is suffering, or has suffered from abuse by a loved one, it can be a frightening and confusing journey, and recovery doesn't happen overnight. For those especially who have suffered terrible traumas, the need and desire for healthy touch can become distorted, and often times walls are built by victims to self-protect. Sometimes this is a good thing, but other times it can hinder growth and progress in recovery. Sometimes finding a trusted professional massage therapist (as well as an emotional counselor) can immensely help overcome the aversion to touch that is created as a result of abuse. A well-educated therapist understands the value of safe-touch and modesty during a session and will work with those who are on a mission to find restoration. We also understand that some may not be ready for this step in recovery, and that's okay too. But we wanted you to know... we are here... we hear you... and we can help in your recovery. For more information, contact us today. If you are in an emergency, please contact either of the hotlines above, or call 911 from a safe location.
