Many new clients will ask, "How long a session do I need to schedule?" While there is no one right answer for all clients, this chart can help serve as a guideline for scheduling your next treatment. Remember, each desired outcome may require more or less time depending upon a client's specific situation, body type, general health, alternate wellness practices, treatment modalities used, etc. Sometimes more than one session will be necessary to fully address any specific concerns. Talk to you therapist if you are unsure which session length or treatment type is right for you. Remember, half hour sessions are mainly for partial body treatment, or for focus work on one or two areas. Hour sessions are required for full body treatment or more detailed work on any given area. Those suffering from significant tension, pain or other health concerns will most often receive the greatest benefit from a 90 minute (or sometimes a 120 minute) session. Also, for those uncertain of what a "full body" massage entails, rest assured that during a professional massage session private areas always remain private and special draping is always used to provide both security and comfort. Scheduling a session longer than 90 minutes may increase the likelihood of post-massage soreness, particularly if deep tissue or trigger point modalities are used. Always be sure to communicate with your therapist throughout the session to ensure a comfortable amount of pressure is used. We hope this helps you better determine which session length to choose. Feel free to visit with us if you're still uncertain which session is right for you.
